Tomislav Sunic’s first book, Against Democracy and Equality: The European New Right, has just been released in a Croatian language edition.  It carries a lengthy preface by Alain de Benoist, which sets out the background and principle positions of the ENR.  I reproduce it in English here, as translated by Tom.

The New Right: 40 Years After ...

In 1990, as a current of thought under the name “European New Right” (ENR) had began to celebrate its twenty-first birthday, a Croatian friend of mine, Tomislav Sunic, published in English the first edition of his book on the New Right. This was originally the text of his doctoral dissertation, defended two years earlier at the University of California in Santa Barbara, (1). Having acquired a very good knowledge of French during his studies at the University of Zagreb, Sunic was keen to probe into the ENR very early on. Moreover, he also had the opportunity to read ENR works in the original French language. Unlike many other commentators who spoke of the ENR on the basis of hearsay and formed judgments from second hand sources, he demonstrated the ability to go right to the core of the issue. He demonstrated a sympathy for the ENR which plainly distinguished him from those commentators.

It was also plain that his book’s interest derives from something more than sympathy. Its importance is due to its pioneer character. Certainly, in the late 1980s several books (but also a number of scholarly works) had already been published on the ENR. But they were almost all published in French. Tomislav Sunic’s book was one of the first to appear abroad (a privilege he shared with some Italian authors). Presenting the history and main ideas of the ENR to a public who had never heard of it before was not an easy task. Thanks to his informed mind, his sense of synthesis, but also his knowledge of the readers he addressed, there is no doubt that Sunic succeeded immediately in his endeavor.

In hindsight, what I find most remarkable is that Tomislav Sunic’s book was written in English, especially given that the author resided at that time in a country - the United States - that he knew from the inside-out and which he viewed in a very critical manner (as evidenced by his latest book, Homo Americanus).

That guy — the Patient Zero of the global economic meltdown — was one Joseph Cassano, the head of a tiny, 400-person unit within the company called AIG Financial Products, or AIGFP. Cassano, a pudgy, balding Brooklyn College grad with beady eyes and way too much forehead, cut his teeth in the Eighties working for Mike Milken, the granddaddy of modern Wall Street debt alchemists. Milken, who pioneered the creative use of junk bonds, relied on messianic genius and a whole array of insider schemes to evade detection while wreaking financial disaster. Cassano, by contrast, was just a greedy little turd with a knack for selective accounting who ran his scam right out in the open, thanks to Washington’s deregulation of the Wall Street casino. “It’s all about the regulatory environment,” says a government source involved with the AIG bailout. “These guys look for holes in the system, for ways they can do trades without government interference. Whatever is unregulated, all the action is going to pile into that.”

The ongoing Princeton lecture series, The Strong Free Will Theorem by John H. Conway and Simon Kochen bears on “creationism”.

It presents science with a choice:

Either believe free will is, in a strong sense, universal or deny your own free will.

How will scientists choose?

PS: I hate to break it to sophomoric anti-creationists like Dawkins, but the fact that so-called “creationists” have their cranks that insist on the literal interpretation of Genesis doesn’t mean you can just dismiss the field.  Evolutionary theory has a lot more room for religion than the determinists would have us believe.

Chatting with a friend of mine about the confluence of events in the 1960s (approaching fertility of the baby boomers, birth control, the technosocialist nightmare of NASA, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, takeover of Anglo Saxon bastions by Jews, rise to cultural dominance of TV, replacement of Christianity with Holocaustianity) I reflected on the seeming common direction.  All these things happened right at the point in time when the most pioneering subpopulation of humanity was ready to send its largest and most educated generation into a lifetime mission to bring life to space—and not only stopped it, but may have risked that life on Earth will extinguish itself.  A mutual friend of ours, who is known for his wild theories, has previously offered up his interpretation of this coincidence—that it is aliens from outer space!  They don’t want terrestrial life messing things up, so they come down here in their UFOs and manipulate our so-called leaders to do these things that are so stupid it boggles the mind.

Come now—why wait until the 1960s to do all this subtle manipulation?  Why not just wipe out the planet?

So I said, “Well, I guess, looking at how incredibly insane our “leaders” have behaved over the prior decades, it might make a little more sense to consider the possibility that the Nazis really did discover antigravity toward the end of WW II but all they could do was build a few space ships—just enough to establish a lunar colony.  You know, hang out on the “dark side of the moon” while occasionally lending a helping hand to the most virulent Jews as revenge against the Allies or something.  Who knows?  Just about anything would make more sense than what has been done to the boomer generation.”

Then my friend sent me a link to this Finnish movie production:

The only problem is, if the Moon Nazis wait until 2018 to return and conquer Earth, their sweet revenge on the Allies may have gotten out of hand and destroyed Earth!

Michael White, a very senior Guardian journalist of 30 years standing, wrote two successive pieces covering immigration and the BNP in two days ... here and here.  He must be appalled by the number of stout-hearted pro-BNPers posting to his threads - though it’s the same pretty well everywhere these days.

The anti-racist shriek tactic that has served the left so well down the years is scarcely evident now.  Similarly, there are no intellectually powerful respondees to drive home the postmodern dictat.  Why don’t the leftist academics pitch in anymore?  Someone posting on both Guardian threads as “stjohnwithout” has noticed that, without them, these arguments are a push-over.  It is almost as though the liberal-left, which has dominated political debate for the last half-a-century, has suffered a crisic of confidence.  It cannot find the energy to prosecute its Weltanshuuang on its own sacred turf.  The balance of power is shifting - at least on the MSM threads.  I find myself wondering where it will go from here.

Obviously, there can be no question of a fightback by the other side.  The nativist memes will become more and more embedded in readers’ consciousness.  The only question is if and when those memes will provoke said readers to think past their learned negative response.  If the staggering injustice of what is being done to our people can be communicated sufficiently forcefully, pretty quickly, I would say.  I’ve always maintained that it takes years to change a man’s mind.  But sea-changes among the suggestible - and the vast majority of liberals are, by definition, suggestible conformists - don’t obey the same laws.  There is a sea-change happening.

Our friend Silver would disagree, insisting that only a highly selective discourse and a special sensitivity for the work can produce results.  But under present conditions, which I confess are favourable, I think that force and clarity of opinion, justice of cause, and absence of malice are enough.

These are good times to be a political renegade.

SOCIOBIOLOGY OF A COMMUNIST KILLING FIELD: THE CROATIAN BLIEBERG

In the study of communist terror different methods from different fields have been applied, ranging from the fields of political science, historiography and philosophy to international justice. An impressive number of books about communist crimes have enabled observers to grasp this unique phenomenon of the twentieth century, which inevitably brings about a large and emotional outcry, followed by constant haggling about different body counts. Whether it is the former communist Cambodia or the former communist Poland, in the memory of many citizens of former communist countries communism is a synonym for an inhumane political system.

Despite the fall of communism as an ideological and political-legal system, the communist ideas of egalitarianism and the belief in permanent economic progress are still alive, albeit in other forms and under different names, and even amidst people who self-describe themselves as anti-communists. Perhaps the reason for that lies in the fact that the ideas of equality, internationalism (‘globalism’) and economic growth are today better achieved, or appear better achievable, in the liberal capitalist West than in the former ‘real-socialist’ countries in the East.

The Washington Post reports that:

At least 3 percent of District residents have HIV or AIDS, a total that far surpasses the 1 percent threshold that constitutes a “generalized and severe” epidemic, according to a report scheduled to be released by health officials tomorrow.
...
“Our rates are higher than West Africa,” said Shannon L. Hader, director of the District’s HIV/AIDS Administration, who once led the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s work in Zimbabwe. “They’re on par with Uganda and some parts of Kenya.”

If you think that the significance of this is merely limited to the general decadance of the capitol of the United States, think again:

HIV Infection!

Prior to including incarceration statistics in the mix, the top demographic variable was cumulative AIDS cases. 

Something big is definitely going on with this virus and it seems somewhat mysterious.

An interesting observation here is that the correlation between cumulative AIDS cases and HIV positive tests in 2001 is 95% but the correlation between cumulative AIDS and the conjunction of a largely black or hispanic population with a largely Jewish white population is 98%.

In other words, as of 2001, available ethnic demography better explained regional incidence of AIDS than did the available HIV infection data.

Some may object on the grounds that the 2001 HIV data on Washington, DC was missing (a fact itself demanding explanation), hence the ethnic correlation was skewed by the availability of ethnic data on the extreme case of Washington, DC.  But even if we toss out the DC data, we still get a 92% correlation (with significantly less missing data).

As impossible as it may seem, there are White people who have been so conditioned towards hating their own race, that they recoil over the assertion that a White Culture (let alone race) exists. Black culture? No Problem. Hispanic Culture? Why, of course. Asian Culture? Visible and obvious. White Culture? What? What’s that? ... Never existed!!!!!!

Why? Maybe because White culture has been so overwhelmingly dominant for the past 3,000 years, that its existence casts too bright a light on the lesser contributions of the other races. Maybe because, for the most part, people today take Western Civilization for granted as Civilization period. Colored peoples’ cultures are viewed as kind of like food chains with franchise rights or a monopoly on a slogan or symbol.

So what is White Culture? It is Western Culture and Civilization, which is to say, European Culture and Civilization, whether it be found in Europe or her colonies around the world.

It is our way of thinking and acting or re-acting. It is the way we gather in groups and produce our rule-of-law to reflect our desire for our notions of a harmonious society.

It is in the way we express ourselves in our music, which tends towards the melodic rather than the rhythmic. In music we seek the divine and the glorious. Non-Whites make music that aims for the hips, while Whites make music that aims for the Heavens.

It is the way we express ourselves in our art, which seeks out the thoughtful and reflective, rather than the opportunism of self/collective adulation that infests so much of non-White art. And in our literature, in which we are inspired (rather than reviled) by the honorable and idealistic, even when tragic, rather then the self-serving and opportunistic.

It is our ability to look beyond our most immediate wants and needs and see ourselves, both individually and collectively, as part of an as yet unfinished tapestry of a history to which we ourselves are but a small part. It is our innate ability to ponder and reflect in both melancholy and joy, the “what-if’s” and the “might have been” and the “what is yet to be”. It is in our wondering what is over the next hill, and finding out. It is in our ability to behold nature, filled with both sorrow and delight at beauty for beauty’s sake.
It is in our feeling that sense of spiritual ecstasy when gazing upon a glorious sunrise, or the feeling of reflective calm and thoughtful peace when viewing a long sunset. White Culture is, simply put, what flows in the veins of every Son and Daughter of European descent. It cannot be described, only experienced. And it can only be experienced by those who are born of it. And being that we Whites are only 13% of the World’s population and dropping (non-Whites making up 87% of the world’s population), it is an experience that may soon fade from all knowledge and memory.
